Conditions we treat here

Cerebral Palsy/ Developmental Delay

Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of early childhood disorders with an array of symptoms including stiff muscles (hypertonia/spasticity), sensory changes, weakness, tremors, and changes in gait (walking).

Muscular Dystrophy

A group of genetic diseases that cause progressive weakness and loss of muscle mass.

In muscular dystrophies, abnormal genes (mutations) lead to muscle degeneration. Damaged muscles become progressively weaker. Most people who have the condition eventually need a wheelchair. Other symptoms include trouble in breathing or swallowing.

Autism

Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by difficulties with social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behaviour. Parents often notice signs during the first three years of their child's life.

Autism spectrum disorder impacts the nervous system and affects the overall cognitive, emotional, social and physical health of the affected individual.

The range and severity of symptoms can vary widely. Common symptoms include difficulty with communication, difficulty with social interactions, obsessive interests and repetitive behaviours. Early recognition, as well as behavioural, educational and family therapies may reduce symptoms and support development and learning.

Attention deficiency Hyperactivity Disorder

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder that affects how you pay attention, sit still, and control your behaviour. It happens in children and teens and can continue into adulthood. ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed mental disorder in children.

Other Peadiatric Disorders

Torticollis (Wry Neck) This is where a child’s neck is twisted so that their head is tilted one way and they strain to look in the opposite direction.

Spina-Bifida Children with Spina-Bifida usually have lower muscle strength because the nerves that supply the muscles in their body are damaged.
